How a buyer pays inside Discord, from /store to the receipt DM

Buyer chat checkout connected to payment approval and an order receipt

When someone asks "how do I buy" in your server, you want one reply you can paste. This is that path, for a store running Cartcord.

They have to be in the server. The commands do nothing useful in a DM with the bot. /store, /products, and /buy are server commands.

They type /store. The bot shows products, Buy buttons, and a link to the full web store. /products is the compact list: price, stock, and a short id, which is the first characters of the product id. /buy product: and then a name or that short id starts checkout for one item.

The next message is private. It shows the price, the delivery type, and two ways forward: pay with PayPal, or open checkout on the website. Both end at the same PayPal payment for that product.

They need to be signed in with Discord on the website before the payment can be tied to them. If they are only clicking around inside the Discord app, the PayPal button still opens. The success page needs their Discord login so we know who to DM. If they paid and the page asks them to sign in, that is expected. They sign in and the same page finishes the order. Tell them not to start a second payment.

PayPal is PayPal. Balance, bank, or card, on PayPal's page, into your PayPal account. Cartcord does not see their card number.

A coupon, if you made one, is typed on the website checkout, not as a slash command. The old /coupon command is gone. On a 100% code the PayPal step is skipped and delivery is attempted right away. Those codes only exist on Pro and Enterprise.

What they should receive

A DM from the bot. For a file or a link, the URL is in that DM. For a key, the key is in the DM, and it is the only one that order will ever get. For a role, the role is applied and the DM is the receipt. For manual work, the DM says you will contact them. It does not pretend the work is already done.

The DM includes an order id. When they ask for help, ask for that id first. It is faster than their life story.

If nothing arrived, the first question is whether they allow DMs from server members. Second, look up the order. Pending delivery means you re-send. Failed payment means they were not charged and should run /buy again. Do not re-send a product for a payment PayPal does not show.

What they cannot do

Buyers sign in with the original Discord account at cartcord.com/purchases, find the order and choose View delivery. This is private purchase recovery, including when DMs were blocked. Payment and delivery states are separate. New recovery/staff bot commands are rolling out, so use the web route if a command is not available.

Stock that says unlimited is a high number in the database, not an empty field. If Buy says out of stock, you are out of keys or you set stock to zero. Fix the product. Do not tell them to try a different command.

A line you can pin

Type /store, press Buy, pay on PayPal, then check your DMs. Turn on DMs from server members first. Questions need the order id from that DM.

That is the whole buyer guide. Yours, as the seller, is the dashboard: products, PayPal, orders. The public docs are at cartcord.com/docs if you want the same steps with the setup screens.

The reply to paste when they are stuck

If they cannot see /store: the bot cannot post in that channel, or they are typing it in a DM. Send them to #shop.

If PayPal opens and then the site asks them to sign in: they should sign in with Discord on that page. The payment they started is still the one that gets captured. A second /buy makes a second PayPal payment.

If they paid and have no DM: Server Settings, Privacy, allow direct messages from members, then tell you the rough time. You re-send from Orders. Ask them for the order id if the success page was still open. It is on that page too.

If the price looks wrong: you changed it, or a coupon was applied on the website. The Discord button shows the product price. The coupon field is only on the site checkout.

If they want an invoice: paid orders attach a PDF to the DM when it can be built. The success page also has the order details. The order id is the number to quote either way.
